• They first worked together in Bombay Priyudu (1996) because Tanikella Bharani was already a trusted writer for director E. V. V. Satyanarayana. J. D. Chakravarthy was the new face the director wanted to launch. Bharani wrote the dialogues and acted alongside him — that film was Chakravarthy's Telugu debut.
• In Main Tere Pyaar Mein Pagal (1999), Bharani played the comic sidekick to Chakravarthy's romantic lead. Their rhythm worked because Bharani wrote his own lines on set, and Chakravarthy fed him straight setups — no rehearsal, just one-take banter.
• Bharani and Chakravarthy stayed in touch long after their films. When Chakravarthy moved into directing, he called Bharani to write dialogues for his 2014 film Ice Cream 2 — their only reunion in 15 years. Bharani said yes without reading the script.
• J. D. Chakravarthy once said in an interview: 'Bharani garu is the only writer who can make me laugh while I'm acting. He'd whisper a new line just before the camera rolled, and I'd have to bite my cheek to not break character.'
• Because of their easy chemistry in Bombay Priyudu, E. V. V. Satyanarayana cast them together again in Main Tere Pyaar Mein Pagal — a film that later inspired a wave of Telugu rom-coms with a hero-and-his-funny-friend template.
