• They first paired up in Aag (1994) because Govinda specifically asked for Shilpa after seeing her in Baazigar. He told the director he wanted a fresh face opposite him, not an established star.
• In Hathkadi (1995), Govinda would deliberately mess up his lines to make Shilpa laugh during serious scenes. She'd then improvise a comeback, and the director kept those takes because they looked like real couple banter.
• During the shoot of Chhote Sarkar (1996), Govinda would bring homemade gajar ka halwa for the entire crew every Friday. Shilpa later said it was the only reason she never complained about the film's chaotic schedule.
• Shilpa once said in a 1998 interview: 'Govinda is the only co-star who can make me forget my lines because I'm laughing so hard. He doesn't act with you — he plays with you.'
• Their last film together, Pardesi Babu (1998), was the first Hindi movie to feature a rap-style comedy song ('Main Toh Raste Se Jaa Raha Tha'). That track directly inspired the trend of comic rap numbers in late-90s Bollywood.
• In Gambler (1995), Govinda insisted Shilpa do her own stunts for the climax chase. She ended up spraining her ankle on the first take. Govinda then carried her for the rest of the scene — and the director kept it in the final cut.
