• Jiiva was the one who pushed Manobala to direct Kadavul Irukaan Kumaru. Manobala had the script but was hesitant to direct again after a long gap. Jiiva insisted, saying the comedy needed Manobala's touch.
• On the sets of Nanban, Manobala (playing a professor) kept cracking up during Jiiva's improvised lines. Jiiva would deliberately throw in new Tamil slang mid-scene just to break Manobala's composure. The director Shankar had to call multiple retakes because Manobala couldn't stop laughing.
• Kalakalappu 2 was the only film where Manobala directed Jiiva as a lead. That film's success directly led to Jiiva signing more comedy-heavy roles in the late 2010s, shifting his image from romantic hero to versatile performer.
