• Mukta V. Srinivasan was a debutant director when he cast Gemini Ganesan in Panithirai (1961). Gemini was already a star. Mukta was nervous directing him. Gemini calmed him down by saying, 'Just tell me what you want. I'll do it.'
• In Idhyathil Nee (1963), Gemini Ganesan deliberately slowed down his usual fast dialogue delivery to match Mukta's more measured, emotional style. Mukta later said that Gemini's restraint in that film made him a better actor.
