• Sridhar cast Prameela Devika in 'Nenjil Or Aalayam' (1962) after seeing her in a stage play. She was just 16 and had zero film experience. He took a huge gamble — and that film became the breakthrough for both of them.
• On the sets of 'Policekaran Magal' (1962), Sridhar would whisper dialogue cues to Prameela Devika just before the camera rolled. She later said his soft, patient direction made her feel like she was acting for a friend, not a boss.
• Their 1963 film 'Nenjam Marappathillai' was one of the earliest Tamil movies to use a non-linear flashback structure. That storytelling trick later became a signature of Sridhar's style — and inspired a whole generation of Tamil screenwriters.
• Prameela Devika called Sridhar 'Anna' (elder brother) off-screen. He personally drove her home after every night shoot because she was a minor and her parents were strict. That trust is why she did five films with him in just three years.
• Prameela Devika once said in an interview: 'Sridhar didn't just direct me — he taught me how to breathe in front of a camera. Every tear I shed in his films was real because he made me feel the scene.'
• In 'Sumaithaangi' (1962), Sridhar deliberately shot Prameela Devika's emotional scenes in long, unbroken takes. He knew she couldn't sustain the emotion if he cut away — so he let the camera roll and trusted her to carry the scene. She never let him down.
