Partnership facts

• They first came together in Swarg (1990) because Govinda personally requested the director to cast Juhi after seeing her in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. He told the team she had the 'innocence and fire' the role needed.
• On the sets of Radha Ka Sangam (1991), Govinda would deliberately mess up his lines to make Juhi laugh. She later said his goofiness helped her relax because she was nervous doing comedy for the first time.
• During the shoot of Bhabhi (1991), Juhi and Govinda developed a ritual: every morning before the first shot, they'd share a cup of chai and gossip about the previous day's rushes. They kept this up for all their films together.
• Their pairing in Deewana Mastana (1997) directly inspired the makers of the 2002 hit Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam to cast them again — but the film got shelved after Govinda walked out mid-shoot over a script dispute.
• Juhi once said in a 2001 interview: 'Govinda is the only co-star who can make me forget my lines. He'll do something so unexpected that I just stand there laughing. That's not acting — that's magic.'
• In Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiyaa (2001), Govinda improvised a 3-minute comic rant about Juhi's character's shopping habits. Juhi responded by ad-libbing a deadpan stare that made the crew crack up. The director kept both takes in the final cut.
