• Madhuri was a rising star when she signed 'Manithan' (1987), but Jai Ganesh was already a veteran. She later admitted she was nervous acting opposite him — he broke the ice by cracking a joke about her costume on day one.
• In 'Kalicharan' (1988), Jai Ganesh played a double role — and Madhuri had to react to two versions of him in the same scene. She later said he would switch between characters mid-shot without warning, forcing her to stay sharp and improvise her reactions.
• During the shoot of 'Thaimel Aanai' (1988), Madhuri’s mother fell ill. Jai Ganesh quietly arranged for a car to take her to the hospital and rescheduled the shoot without telling the producer — something Madhuri only found out years later.
