• Subbaraju was the one who pushed for Raghu Babu to be cast in Allari Pidugu (2005). He told the director that Raghu Babu's comic timing would balance his own intense role. That film became their first pairing.
• In Pourudu (2008), Raghu Babu and Subbaraju played brothers with opposite personalities. Raghu Babu improvised most of his comic lines on set, and Subbaraju would react in real time. The director let the camera roll longer just to capture those unscripted moments.
