• They first faced off in Khoon Ka Karz (1991) because the director needed a villain who could match Shakti Kapoor's manic energy. Kiran Kumar was brought in last minute after the original actor dropped out.
• In Shatranj (1993), they played chess rivals. Kiran Kumar later said Shakti would deliberately mess up his lines to make him laugh during tense scenes — and that's why their standoffs feel so alive.
• Dosti Zindabad (2019) was their only hit together — and it's the reason they're still remembered as a duo. The film's success directly led to a wave of 'old villain buddy comedies' in Bhojpuri cinema.
• They never hung out outside sets. But on every film, they had a ritual: before the first shot, they'd shake hands and say 'Chal, maar daal.' It was their way of saying 'let's kill it.'
• Kiran Kumar once told a trade magazine: 'Shakti and I never needed a director. We'd just look at each other and know who's going to slap whom next.'
