• Bhagyaraj was a struggling dialogue writer when he first cast Raadhika in 'Bhama Rukmani' (1980). He wrote the film specifically for her after watching her in 'Kizhakke Pogum Rail' — and she agreed to do it even though he had zero directing experience at that point.
• On the sets of 'Indru Poi Naalai Vaa' (1981), Bhagyaraj would write dialogues the night before and hand them to Raadhika at 6 AM. She'd memorize them during makeup. He later admitted she was the only actress who never complained about his last-minute rewrites.
• Their film 'Anbulla Rajinikanth' (1984) directly inspired the trend of meta-cinema in Tamil films — where actors play exaggerated versions of themselves. Without this movie, you probably wouldn't have had 'Sivaji' or 'Villain' later.
• After their last film together in 1984, they didn't speak for over 30 years. Then in 2017, Bhagyaraj called Raadhika out of the blue and asked her to play his wife in 'Mupparimanam'. She said yes without reading the script. They picked up exactly where they left off.
• Raadhika once said in a 2018 interview: 'Bhagyaraj sir knows exactly which nerve to press to make me cry on screen. He'd whisper something mean about my acting just before the camera rolled, and I'd be furious — and that anger became the tears you saw.'
