• Sripriya was already a star when she agreed to do Enakkul Oruvan (1984). Charlie was a newcomer. She personally asked the director to cast him after seeing his stage work. That film became his breakout.
• On the sets of Kodaimazhai (1986), Sripriya would rehearse her lines with Charlie in the makeup van before every scene. She slowed down her own delivery to match his natural rhythm. He later said that made him feel like an equal, not a junior.
• After Senthoora Poove (1988) flopped, Sripriya and Charlie didn't speak for nearly a decade. A mutual friend revealed they had a falling out over a salary dispute on that film. They reconciled only in the late 1990s at a private function.
• The success of Enakkul Oruvan (1984) directly led to Charlie being cast as the lead in two more films that year — both opposite Sripriya. That one film launched his career as a romantic hero in Tamil cinema.
• Charlie once told a magazine: 'Sripriya taught me how to act with my eyes. Before her, I only used my voice.' He said this in a 1995 interview with Ananda Vikatan.
