• Santhanam and Jagan first met on the sets of Idhaya Thirudan (2006). Santhanam was already a rising comedian, but Jagan was still finding his footing as a lead. The director paired them specifically to balance Jagan's intensity with Santhanam's comic timing — a gamble that worked.
• In Pattathu Yaanai (2013), Santhanam's rapid-fire one-liners forced Jagan to react in real time. Jagan later admitted in an interview that he had to stay on his toes because Santhanam would change the dialogue on set — and Jagan's genuine surprise became part of the scene.
• Despite making three films together, Santhanam and Jagan never became close friends off-screen. They were strictly professional — no shared meals, no phone calls between projects. Their chemistry was purely a work product.
