• Santhanam and Ganja Karuppu first shared screen space in 'Arai En 305-il Kadavul' (2008) because director Chimbu Deven specifically wanted two comedians who could play off each other's contrasting energies — Santhanam's fast, urban sarcasm versus Ganja Karuppu's raw, rural deadpan. Deven told them to just improvise in the police station scene, and that unscripted back-and-forth became the film's most talked-about comedy track.
• In 'Malai Malai' (2009), Santhanam set the rhythm of their scenes by delivering his lines at double speed, forcing Ganja Karuppu to slow down even more — creating a comic tension where one was racing and the other was dragging. Ganja Karuppu later admitted he deliberately paused longer than written just to watch Santhanam get visibly impatient on screen.
