• Mahesh Bhatt cast Dimple Kapadia in 'Kaash' (1987) right after her comeback in 'Saagar' — but he didn't write the role for her. He saw her raw, unpolished energy in a party and decided she was perfect for the volatile, grieving wife. She said yes without reading the full script.
• On the sets of 'Kaash', Bhatt would deliberately provoke Dimple before emotional scenes — not to upset her, but to tap into her real-life anger. She later admitted that his method made her cry on cue, but she hated him for it during the shoot.
• After 'Kaash' flopped, Bhatt and Dimple didn't speak for nearly two years. He only called her again in 1991 to offer 'Maarg' — a film he wrote specifically to make amends. She accepted without negotiating her fee.
