• Rajkumar Hirani didn't want Arshad Warsi for Circuit. He thought Arshad was too 'urban' and 'cool' for the role. Arshad auditioned anyway, and Hirani changed his mind the second he saw him do the character's walk.
• Hirani let Arshad improvise almost all of Circuit's dialogue. The famous 'Circuit ki shaadi mein yeh sab kyun ho raha hai?' line in Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. was completely ad-libbed by Arshad on set. Hirani kept it in the final cut.
• The 'Circuit' character directly inspired the sidekick archetype in a dozen Bollywood comedies after 2003. Films like 'Dhamaal' and 'Golmaal' series owe their comic-relief buddy dynamics to what Hirani and Warsi built together.
• Arshad Warsi was the first person Hirani called after he finished the script of 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai'. They met at a café in Bandra, and Hirani narrated the entire film to Arshad over chai. Arshad said yes before the chai got cold.
• Rajkumar Hirani once said: 'Arshad is the only actor who can make me laugh even when the camera is not rolling. He doesn't act like Circuit — he just is Circuit.'
• In 'Sanju', Hirani deliberately gave Arshad a small but pivotal role as a drug dealer. He told Arshad: 'You're the only one who can make a dealer feel like a friend.' Arshad shot his entire part in two days, and Hirani didn't ask for a single retake.
