• For Judwaa (1997), director David Dhawan originally wanted a different actor for the role that went to Dalip Tahil. Salman Khan personally insisted on casting Tahil, saying he needed a strong, believable father figure to play off his twin characters.
• On the sets of Chal Mere Bhai (2000), Salman would deliberately mess up his lines to make Dalip Tahil laugh during serious scenes. Tahil later said Salman’s goofy energy forced him to stay on his toes and improvise, which made their comic timing sharper.
• The success of Judwaa (1997) directly led to Dalip Tahil being typecast as the wealthy, worried father in a string of Salman Khan films. Without that role, Tahil might never have become the go-to 'papa' for 2000s Bollywood comedies.
