• Salman Khan was a complete unknown when Saawan Kumar Tak cast him as the lead in Sanam Bewafa (1990). Tak took a huge gamble — Salman had only done a supporting role in Biwi Ho To Aisi before this. The film became his first hit as a solo hero.
• On the sets of Chaand Kaa Tukdaa (1994), Saawan Kumar Tak reportedly directed Salman to dial up his romantic intensity to 11 — making him deliver every line like a lovesick poet. Salman later said Tak taught him how to 'sell a love scene with just his eyes'.
• After Sanam Bewafa became a hit, Saawan Kumar Tak became a father figure to Salman. Tak would personally cook Salman's favourite biryani on set during Chaand Kaa Tukdaa. They stayed close for years, but drifted apart after Saawan... The Love Season (2006) flopped hard.
