• Rajat Kapoor cast Ranvir Shorey in Dasvidaniya (2008) after seeing his raw energy in a small role in Khosla Ka Ghosla. Rajat later said he needed an actor who could play the cynical best friend without making him unlikeable — Ranvir was the only one who auditioned who got the tone right.
• On the set of Fatso (2012), Rajat and Ranvir developed a rhythm where Rajat would set the emotional baseline in a scene, and Ranvir would then throw in a wild improvisation to break the tension.
