• Akshay Kumar was a virtual unknown when he signed Aankhen (1993). Govinda was already a star. The film's director, David Dhawan, paired them specifically to give Akshay a launchpad — and it worked. Govinda later said he saw Akshay's hunger and pushed for him in the role.
• On Bhagam Bhag (2006), Govinda would improvise entire comic sequences on set, and Akshay would match his energy beat-for-beat. Director Priyadarshan said they fed off each other's timing — Govinda set the rhythm, Akshay followed without missing a step.
• Their only hit together, Holiday (2014), was a remake of the Tamil film Thuppakki. But because Akshay and Govinda starred in it, the Hindi version became a template for action-comedy buddy films — directly inspiring later pairings like Akshay with Tiger Shroff in the Baaghi series.
