• They first met on the sets of Kurbaan (1991) when Kareena was just 10 years old. She was there visiting her sister Karisma, who was the film's lead. Saif was the romantic hero. Kareena later said she decided right then that she wanted to be an actress.
• In Omkara (2006), Saif played the villain Langda Tyagi and Kareena played his wife Dolly. Their scenes together had a raw, uncomfortable tension because Saif deliberately stayed in character between takes — he wouldn't smile at her or break the hostility. Kareena later said it made her performance sharper because she felt genuinely unsettled.
• Their pairing in Omkara (2006) directly led to Vishal Bhardwaj casting them again in a never-made project. Bhardwaj had planned a film called 'Manto' with Saif and Kareena in the lead roles, but it fell through. Years later, Nawazuddin Siddiqui played Manto instead.
• They started dating during the filming of Tashan (2008). Saif was still married to Amrita Singh at the time. The relationship became public during the film's promotion, and they got married in 2012 — the same year their last film together, Agent Vinod, released.
