• Senthil was already a popular comedian when Sindhu was cast opposite him in 'Oor Mariyadhai' (1992). But the pairing almost didn't happen — Sindhu's family was hesitant about her acting opposite a much older, established comedian. Senthil personally assured them he'd handle the comedy and give her space to shine. She signed the next day.
• In 'Seeman' (1994), Senthil deliberately slowed down his comic timing to match Sindhu's more natural, understated reactions. He told the director he wanted her pauses to land — not his punchlines. That film became their most critically acclaimed pairing.
• On the sets of 'Chandralekha' (1995), Senthil would bring homemade snacks for Sindhu every single day. She later revealed in an interview that he called her 'thangam' (gold) and treated her like a younger sister — even teaching her how to handle press interviews without getting nervous.
• Sindhu once said in a 1999 magazine interview: 'Senthil sir never made me feel like a supporting actress. He'd tell the cameraman, 'Get her face first, I'll adjust.' That's rare in this industry.'
• Their last film together, 'Suriya Paarvai' (1999), was the only one where they played a married couple. The film's family comedy template — a bickering husband-wife duo solving problems together — directly inspired the 2002 TV serial 'Marmadesam' spin-off that ran for 3 seasons.
• In 'Oor Mariyadhai', Senthil improvised a scene where he pretends to be scared of a goat — and Sindhu, without a script, started scolding the goat as if it were a rival. The director kept the take because their unplanned back-and-forth became the film's most replayed comedy bit.
