• Their first film together, Jeene Nahi Doonga (1984), was a revenge drama where Shatrughan Sinha played a double role. Anita Raj was cast opposite him in both roles — meaning she had to romance two versions of the same man in one movie. That’s a wild debut pairing.
• In Ilzaam (1986), Shatrughan played a blind man who regains his sight. Anita Raj’s character was the emotional anchor — she had to guide his physical movements in several scenes without making it look rehearsed. They rehearsed those sequences for hours to get the timing right.
