Shool(1999)
Shool is a 1999 Indian Hindi-language action drama film directed by Eeshwar Nivas. It stars Manoj Bajpayee as Inspector Samar Pratap Singh, Raveena Tandon as his wife Manjari, and Sayaji Shinde as the criminal-politician Bachhu Yadav. The story follows an honest police officer who is transferred to a small town in Bihar where the police force is completely controlled by a local MLA. When he refuses to participate in the corruption, the politician destroys his career and his family. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi and was screened at the International Film Festival of India and the Toronto International Film Festival. It has since gained a cult following for its intense performances and hard-hitting narrative.

Storyline
Inspector Samar Pratap Singh is an honest cop transferred to a lawless town in Bihar. He refuses to take bribes or follow the orders of the local criminal-politician Bachhu Yadav. This decision sets off a chain of violence that destroys his family. Pushed to the edge, Samar decides to take justice into his own hands.
