Maaveeran is a 1986 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by Rajasekhar. The film stars Rajinikanth, Ambika, and Jaishankar. It is a remake of the 1985 Hindi film Mard. The story follows Raja, a simple village strongman who protects his mother and village from a cruel businessman named Harry. A rude princess named Rekha falls in love with Raja after initially hating him. Maaveeran was the first Tamil film shot in 70 mm format with six-track stereophonic sound. The music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja. The film was a critical and commercial failure upon its Diwali 1986 release. It is remembered primarily for its technical innovations and Rajinikanth's performance.

Storyline
