Sadhurangam is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language political thriller film written and directed by Karu Palaniappan. The film stars Srikanth as an investigative journalist and Sonia Agarwal as his love interest. The story follows Thirupathisamy, a fearless reporter who exposes corruption in the police, government, and real estate sectors. His articles lead to the suspension of a police superintendent and the transfer of an IAS officer. When his girlfriend Sandhya is kidnapped in retaliation, Thiru must race against time to save her from being sold into a brothel. The film was shot between 2003 and 2006 but faced a delayed release until October 2011. Critics praised its sharp dialogues and relevant social commentary. Karu Palaniappan won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Story Writer for this film.
