The story follows an escaped prisoner who joins a pilgrimage to the Sabarimala temple seeking redemption. The film is notable for its realistic portrayal of the Sabarimala journey and its devotional music composed by Chandrabose. The song 'Poiyindri Meiyyodu' sung by K. J. Yesudas became a major hit. Storyline

Adaikalam, a long-term prisoner, escapes from jail with two other inmates. To avoid capture, they disguise themselves as Ayyappa devotees and join a pilgrimage to Sabarimala. As the police close in, the men must complete their spiritual journey before they are caught. Their faith becomes their only hope for freedom.
