Mayor Meenakshi is a 1976 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Madurai Thirumaran. The film stars K. R. Vijaya in the title role, with Jaishankar, V. K. Ramasamy, and Cho in supporting roles. The story follows Meenakshi, a corporation scavenger who rises to become the Mayor of Chennai. She faces constant opposition from corrupt politicians while struggling to balance her duties at work and home. The film features a soundtrack by M. S. Viswanathan with lyrics by Kannadasan and Vaali. Some scenes were shot in Kashmir. The film established K. R. Vijaya as an ideal mother figure in Tamil cinema. It was released on 28 May 1976.

Storyline
Meenakshi is a poor housewife who works as a street cleaner. She sees corruption and injustice everywhere. She decides to fight back by running for mayor. But powerful politicians try to stop her. She must win the election and save her family at the same time.
