Kanni Thaai (1965) is a Tamil-language action adventure film directed by M. A. Thirumugam. The film stars M. G. Ramachandran, K. R. Vijaya, and Jayalalithaa in lead roles. The story follows Captain Saravanan, a soldier who promises his dying friend to protect his six-year-old daughter Rani. Saravanan and Rani travel across India while being hunted by a criminal gang. The film was produced by Sandow M. M. A. Chinnappa Thevar and features music composed by K. V. Mahadevan. Critical reception was mixed, with The Indian Express calling the story lacklustre while Sport and Pastime noted its racy treatment. The film was released on 10 September 1965.

Storyline
