Shanthi(1965)
Shanthi is a 1965 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by A. Bhimsingh and produced by A. L. Srinivasan under A.L.S. Productions. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, S. S. Rajendran, C. R. Vijayakumari, and Devika in lead roles. The story follows Santhanam, a farmer who kills a cruel landlord and allows his wife to take the blame. The film explores themes of guilt, sacrifice, and the search for inner peace. It was praised for its cast performances and emotional depth. The soundtrack, composed by Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy with lyrics by Kannadasan, includes the popular song 'Yaarantha Nilavu'. Shanthi was released on 22 April 1965 after a delay caused by censorship issues. It was later remade in Hindi as Gauri (1968).

Storyline
