'Ayiram Roobai' (1964) is a Tamil-language drama film directed and written by K. S. Gopalakrishnan. The film stars Gemini Ganesan and Savitri in lead roles, with M. R. Radha, C. K. Nagesh, and S. A. Ashokan in supporting parts. The story follows a poor young man who finds a counterfeit thousand rupee note and the chaos that follows. The film is an adaptation of Mark Twain's 'The Million Pound Note', adapted to an Indian setting. The music was composed by K. V. Mahadevan with lyrics by Vaali, A. Maruthakasi, and Kannadasan. Critical reception was mixed, with The Indian Express calling it a 'crude and twisted adaptation' while Kalki magazine praised Savitri's performance. The film was released on 3 December 1964.

Storyline
A poor young man named Raju finds a thousand rupee note on the street. He believes his luck has changed, but the note is counterfeit. As he tries to use the fake money, he is chased by police and betrayed by a wealthy businessman. Raju must fight to clear his name and win back the woman he loves.
