Trivia

  • The film's director A.C. Trilokchander was a prominent South Indian filmmaker, and this was one of his rare directorial ventures in Hindi cinema.
  • Actor Jeetendra, who played Ajay Singh, was known for his dancing skills, but this role cast him in a rare dark, revenge-driven character.
  • The movie's title 'Shukriyaa' means 'thank you' in Hindi, which contrasts sharply with its plot of revenge and familial conflict.
  • Actress Sridevi was initially considered for the female lead, but the role eventually went to a less-known actress at the time.
  • The film's soundtrack was composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, but it did not achieve the same popularity as their other 1980s hits.
  • Shukriyaa was a box office disappointment, which contributed to its relative obscurity compared to other romantic dramas of the era.
  • The plot twist involving Ajay's hidden motive was an unusual narrative for a mainstream Hindi film in the late 1980s.
