Satyamev Jayate(1987)
Satyamev Jayate is a 1987 Indian Hindi-language action drama film directed by Raj N. Sippy. The film stars Vinod Khanna, Meenakshi Sheshadri, and Madhavi in lead roles. It follows Inspector Arjun Singh, a Mumbai police officer with a drinking problem, who is transferred to a small town after a young man dies in his custody. In Tehsil, he confronts his past, investigates the death, and finds solace in a sex worker named Seema. The film is a remake of the Malayalam film Aavanazhi. Vinod Khanna's performance as the alcoholic cop was critically acclaimed and is considered one of his best. Meenakshi Sheshadri's portrayal of a prostitute also earned praise. The film was a box office success and marked Khanna's comeback after a hiatus. It released on 19 June 1987.

Storyline
Inspector Arjun Singh is a broken cop. A young man dies in his custody. He is transferred to a new town. There, he meets the dead boy's angry sister. He also reconnects with his old lover, now married to a corrupt lawyer. To escape his pain, he turns to alcohol and a kind sex worker named Seema. But when the sister gets trapped by criminals, Arjun must fight to uncover the truth and save everyone.
