
Chandramukhi(2005)
Chandramukhi is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language psychological comedy horror film written and directed by P. Vasu. The film stars Rajinikanth, Prabhu, and Jyothika in lead roles, with an ensemble cast including Vadivelu, Nayanthara, and Nassar. It is a remake of Vasu's own Kannada film Apthamitra, which was based on the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu. The story follows a woman who develops dissociative identity disorder after moving into a haunted mansion, and a psychiatrist who risks his life to cure her. Produced by Sivaji Productions as their 50th film, Chandramukhi became the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2005. It won five Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and ran for 890 days at Chennai's Shanti Theatre, setting a new record. The film was released on 14 April 2005, coinciding with Tamil New Year.

Storyline
A young couple moves into a centuries-old mansion against the warnings of local villagers. Soon, the wife begins to exhibit strange behavior, and terrifying events plague the household. A visiting psychiatrist suspects the cause is not a ghost, but a deep psychological disorder. He must risk his own life to confront the hidden personality and save the family.
