Makkal Aatchi is a 1995 Indian Tamil-language political thriller film directed by R. K. Selvamani and written by E. Ramdoss. The film stars Mammootty, Roja, and Ranjitha in lead roles, with Aishwarya, Anandaraj, and Livingston in supporting roles. The story follows Sethupathi, a common man who discovers a large sum of money in an abandoned truck and uses it to launch a political career, eventually becoming Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The film is noted for its realistic portrayal of corruption in Tamil Nadu politics during the 1990s. It was released on 23 October 1995 during Diwali and became a commercial success despite competing with major releases like Muthu and Kuruthipunal. The soundtrack was composed by Ilaiyaraaja.

Storyline
Sethupathi, an ordinary man, finds a truck filled with cash and decides to use the money to enter politics. He fights against a corrupt political system led by the powerful Rangachari. With the support of his wife Sarasu and loyal friend Govindasamy, Sethupathi risks everything to win the trust of the people and become Chief Minister.
