Trivia

  • The film was originally titled 'Munna' before being renamed 'Saleem' to better reflect the protagonist's dual identity.
  • Vishnu Manchu performed his own stunts for the action sequences, including a high-speed car chase scene in Bangkok.
  • This was one of the few Telugu films at the time to have extensive shooting locations in Europe, specifically Switzerland.
  • The character name Ogiraja Jogayya (OJo) played by Mohan Babu is a humorous nod to the common practice of using initials for factionist characters in Telugu cinema.
  • Director Y.V.S. Chowdary stated the film was partially inspired by the classic trope of a mysterious stranger entering a household, seen in older Indian films.
  • The movie's soundtrack by Mani Sharma included a remix of the popular 1990s Telugu song 'Chilakkamma' from the film 'Annamayya'.
  • Despite its action-comedy genre, the film incorporates the Rayalaseema faction backdrop, a setting the director had explored in his earlier hit 'Okkadu'.
