Chakri (born Gilla Chakradhar, 15 June 1974) was a Telugu film music composer known for delivering high-energy, mass-appealing soundtracks across approximately 85 films in Telugu cinema. He won the Nandi Award for Best Music Director for Simha (2010) and a Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer (Telugu) for Satyam (2003), with notable scores also including Desamuduru (2007) and Dhee (2007). Chakri was particularly renowned for his Sankranthi season blockbusters, crafting foot-tapping folk and commercial numbers such as 'Bangarukonda' from Simha that became mass anthems. He passed away on 15 December 2014 at age 40 from a heart attack, leaving behind a legacy as one of Telugu cinema's most prolific composers of the 2000s.
