Neither was a star then — the casting was purely about finding actors who could play off each other's timing without stepping on the other's lines.
• In Veeram (2014), their comedy track worked because Thambi Ramaiah played the anxious, overthinking sidekick while Mayilsamy played the clueless, loud one. They never overlapped dialogue — one would set up the joke, the other would deliver the punchline a beat later. That rhythm came from years of doing stage plays together before films.
