Partnership facts

• Vivek and Charle first met on the sets of Kaalamellam Kadhal Vaazhga (1997). Director S. A. Chandrasekhar paired them as a comedy duo after seeing their individual improv skills during a rehearsal — neither had auditioned together before that day.
• In Aasaiyil Oru Kaditham (1999), Charle would deliberately flub his lines to make Vivek react naturally. Vivek later said that Charle's unpredictability forced him to stay sharp — they never rehearsed scenes more than once.
• During the shoot of Thenkasi Pattanam (2002), Vivek and Charle shared a room in a small lodge near Tenkasi. They would stay up rewriting each other's dialogues every night, often cutting each other's lines to make the other funnier.
• Charle once told a magazine: 'Vivek would finish my sentence before I said it. We didn't need a script — just a nod and we knew where the other was going.'
• Their comic timing in Kaalamellam Kadhal Vaazhga directly inspired director K. S. Ravikumar to cast them together in his later films, though that project never materialized. The duo's rhythm became a template for 2000s Tamil comedy pairs like Vivek–Pandu.
