• Nirupa Roy was already a veteran 'mother' figure by 1985, but Shoma Anand was a newcomer. Director K. Bapaiah paired them in 'Aaj Ka Daur' specifically to let Anand learn screen timing from Roy — Roy agreed only after Anand personally requested her on set.
• In 'Pyar Ka Mandir' (1988), Roy played the suffering mother and Anand the rebellious daughter-in-law. Roy deliberately slowed her dialogue delivery in every confrontation scene so Anand's reactions would land harder — Anand later said Roy 'taught me how to listen on camera.'
• During the shoot of 'Aurat Teri Yehi Kahani' (1988), Roy would cook homemade gujiya for the entire crew every Sunday. Anand would sit with her in the vanity van and help roll the dough — they never discussed acting, only recipes and family.
