• Prashanth and Simran first worked together in Kannedhirey Thondrinal (1998) because director V. Sekhar cast them after seeing their individual hits — but the real spark was that Simran had to dub her own lines in Tamil for the first time, and Prashanth helped her practice on set every evening.
• In Jodi (1999), Prashanth’s character was the loud, impulsive one while Simran played the grounded voice of reason — but off-camera, it was the reverse. Simran would crack jokes to loosen Prashanth up before intense scenes, and he’d calm her down when she got nervous about dance sequences.
• Parthen Rasithen (2000) was the first Tamil film where both leads had equal screen time in a romantic thriller — and it directly inspired director Mysskin’s later film Anjathe (2008), who said in an interview that the tension between Prashanth and Simran in that film made him want to write a similar dynamic.
• During the shoot of Thamizh (2002), Simran’s father passed away. Prashanth quietly took over her shoot schedule, rescheduled his own scenes, and didn’t tell anyone until years later. Simran revealed this in a 2018 TV interview, calling him 'the most silent supporter I ever had.'
• Simran once said in a 2003 interview: 'Prashanth and I never had to rehearse. We’d just look at each other and know what the other was going to do. That’s why our films felt real.'
