R. Rahman, reusing five songs from his Hindi film 'Doli Saja Ke Rakhna'. 'Jodi' was a commercial success and was remade in Kannada as 'Sajni' in 2006. The film released on 9 September 1999.

Storyline
Kannan dreams of a girl with gold anklets and finds her in real life. She is Gayathri, a music student. They fall in love, but both their fathers oppose the relationship. Kannan must win over Gayathri's guilt-ridden father and his own strict father to marry the girl of his dreams.
