• Prashanth was just 17 when he signed Vaigasi Poranthachu (1990). Janagaraj, already a veteran comedian, was brought in to anchor the young debutant. The director later said Janagaraj's presence on set calmed Prashanth's nerves during his first shot.
• In Unakkaga Piranthen (1992), Janagaraj improvised a whole scene where he pretends to be Prashanth's father to fool the heroine's family. Prashanth couldn't stop laughing during the take. The director kept the flub in the final cut because it looked natural.
• Jodi (1999) was a disaster at the box office, but it accidentally launched a trend: the film's soundtrack by A.R. Rahman became a wedding playlist staple. Prashanth and Janagaraj's comic track in that film is still memed on Tamil Twitter during election season.
• Janagaraj reportedly refused to work on any other film during the shooting of Piriyadha Varam Vendum (2001) because Prashanth had specifically requested him for the role of the father. He told a magazine: 'He called me 'appa' on set. I couldn't say no.'
• Janagaraj once said in an interview: 'Prashanth is the only hero who let me rewrite my lines. He trusted my comic timing more than the script.'
• In Aayudham (2005), their last film together, Janagaraj played a blind man. Prashanth physically guided him through every scene off-camera, holding his elbow between takes. The director said it was the only time Janagaraj didn't need a stand-in for blocking.
