• Chalapathi Rao was already a veteran character actor when Allari Naresh was a newcomer. Their first film together, Thotti Gang (2002), happened because Naresh specifically requested Rao for the role of his on-screen father — he felt Rao’s comic timing would balance his own hyper-energy.
• In Bendu Apparao R.M.P. (2009), Chalapathi Rao played the straight man to Naresh’s manic village doctor. Rao later told a fan that Naresh would deliberately break into unpredictable physical comedy mid-scene, forcing Rao to react in real time — which made their exchanges feel like genuine father-son bickering.
