• They first shared screen space in Chaitanya (1990), a low-budget thriller where Ravi played a police officer and Silk played a club dancer. The director later admitted he cast them together purely because both were available at short notice — no grand plan, just a scheduling accident.
• In Adhisaya Manithan (1990), Ravi's character was a stoic scientist and Silk's was a seductive spy. Ravi later said in an interview that Silk's exaggerated, almost cartoonish acting style forced him to underplay every scene — he had to be stone-faced just to keep the film from turning into a comedy.
