• Vadivelu was a struggling mimicry artist when Ganthimathi recommended him for a small role in Thevar Magan (1992). That film put both of them on the map — Ganthimathi as the iconic sidekick, Vadivelu as a fresh face who'd later own comedy.
• In Ilaignar Ani (1994), Ganthimathi played the straight man to Vadivelu's manic energy. Ganthimathi would set the rhythm with deadpan reactions, and Vadivelu would riff off that silence — a call-and-response that made their scenes feel like a live comedy duet.
