• Rajinikanth was already a rising star when Bairavi (1978) was announced, but Geetha was a newcomer. Director M. Bhaskar paired them specifically because he wanted a fresh face opposite Rajini — and Geetha's audition convinced him she could hold her own against the star's intensity.
• In Garjanai (1981), Rajinikanth played a deaf-mute — a role that required him to rely entirely on body language. Geetha's character was his emotional anchor, and she later said in an interview that she had to 'act for two' because Rajini couldn't use dialogue to signal his cues.
