• Nassar and Ramki first shared screen space in Paravaigal Palavidham (1988) because director R. Sundarrajan needed two actors who could play brothers with contrasting temperaments — Nassar the intense one, Ramki the easygoing one. Sundarrajan later said he cast them specifically because they had zero off-screen ego, which made the sibling fights look real.
• In Poovizhi Raja (1988), Nassar played the villain and Ramki the hero. But on set, Nassar would quietly rehearse Ramki’s lines with him before every scene — not because Ramki asked, but because Nassar believed a hero looks better when the villain pushes him harder. Ramki later admitted that Nassar’s off-camera coaching made his performance sharper.
• Their 1990 film Pudhiya Sarithiram was the first Tamil movie where both actors played double roles — and it directly inspired director K. S. Ravikumar to cast them again in a similar twin-gimmick film years later. That never happened, but the idea of a Nassar-Ramki double-act became a running joke in the industry.
• During the shoot of Amma Pillai (1990), Nassar and Ramki shared a room in a small lodge in Tenkasi for 45 days. They cooked their own rice and dal every night because the hotel food gave them both stomach issues. Ramki still calls that period 'the messiest but most fun shoot of my life.'
• Ramki once told a magazine: 'Nassar and I never had a single fight on set. Not one. But we argued for hours about who would pay for the tea. That was our only competition.'
