• Revathi was the one who recommended Prakash Raj to director Mani Ratnam for Iruvar (1997). She had just worked with him in Subash (1996) and told Mani Ratnam, 'This guy is special.' That call got him the role that made him a star.
• In Iruvar, Revathi played a classical dancer who slowly goes blind. Prakash Raj played her husband. The scene where she touches his face to 'see' him one last time — Revathi insisted they shoot it without rehearsal. She wanted the rawness. Prakash Raj later said her instinct made him cry for real.
• After Subash (1996) flopped, Revathi called Prakash Raj and said, 'Don't worry. That film was a mess, but you were good. Keep going.' He has said in interviews that one phone call kept him from quitting acting.
• Their pairing in Iruvar (1997) directly led to Prakash Raj being cast in his first Telugu film. A Telugu producer saw their chemistry and signed him for a role. That opened the door for his entire career in Telugu cinema.
