• In 'Itlu Sravani Subramanyam' (2001), Tanikella Bharani and Uttej played brothers-in-law. The director, Puri Jagannadh, cast them together for the first time because he wanted two actors who could trade rapid-fire comedy without stepping on each other's lines.
• On the sets of 'Munna' (2007), Uttej would deliberately flub his lines to make Tanikella Bharani break character. Bharani later said that Uttej's unpredictability forced him to stay sharp — they never rehearsed, just fed off each other's energy in the moment.
• Tanikella Bharani and Uttej shared a dressing room on all three films. Uttej would bring homemade pickles from his mother, and Bharani would read out poetry between shots. They never argued once on set.
