• Urvashi and Kushboo were cast as the two female leads in Michael Madana Kama Rajan (1990) because director Singeetam Srinivasa Rao wanted a pair who could switch between comedy and drama without missing a beat. Urvashi was already a star, but Kushboo was relatively new to Tamil — the director bet on their contrasting energies to sell the film's quadruple-role chaos.
• In Irattai Roja (1996), Urvashi played the loud, street-smart sister and Kushboo played the soft, romantic one. On set, Urvashi would deliberately flub her lines to make Kushboo laugh before a serious scene — it became their ritual to break each other's tension before the camera rolled.
• During the shoot of Ettupatti Rasa (1997), Urvashi and Kushboo shared a room in a small town lodge because the production budget couldn't afford separate rooms. They spent nights rehearsing dialogues together and became close enough that Kushboo later said Urvashi was the only co-star who ever made her feel like she had a sister on set.

The show's writer admitted in a behind-the-scenes feature that he rewatched Vasugi to study how Urvashi and Kushboo balanced conflict and warmth.
• In Viralukketha Veekkam (1999), the director gave them no rehearsal time for a key confrontation scene. Urvashi started improvising in rapid-fire Tamil, and Kushboo matched her beat-for-beat without a script — the entire 4-minute take was used in the final cut. The editor later said he couldn't cut a single frame because their rhythm was too perfect.
